Hello! I’m Freya Illingworth,
A West London based Pilates Instructor and Personal Trainer.
Bringing over 700 hours of group teaching experience, my method is a unique blend of classical and contemporary Pilates designed to build strength, longevity and mindfulness.
My passion for movement and wellness was deepened by a life-altering accident during my childhood. At the age of 7, I ran through a glass door, severing several tendons in the front of both shins. This injury left me with limited dorsiflexion in my right foot, forcing me to adapt and accept a different way of moving to my peers. Through ongoing rehabilitation, training, and physiotherapy, I’ve seen both sides of the process, grown an understanding of the body’s nuances, and been able to refine my craft as a wellness professional. This journey has taught me early on the true privilege that is movement and exercise.
With a strong interest in the science of wellbeing and a deep appreciation for the intricacies of the human body, I take a technically-focused yet creative approach to training. My goal is to bridge the gap between emerging academic research and my clients’ understanding of their bodies.
In 2023, I earned my Level 3 Personal Training certificate, under Nick Thorogood of Power and Revive gym - Canggu, Bali.
I then went on to train in Dynamic Reformer Pilates, at the TEN (Ten Health and Fitness) Academy. Accepting a role as a full time trainer at their Chiswick branch, one of the highest performing studios of their London leading chain. I have since decided to step back from full time here, allowing me to pursue my passion as a freelancer.
